The Style Files: My 1st OOTD | A Cloudy Weekend

6.17.2013

I do love a cloudy day. The cool breeze, the occasional glimpses of sunshine - it is the perfect weather for me. I hate being too hot and flashing too much skin, so I'm always pleased when it is cool enough to wear tights. Today I thought I'd bite the bullet and do my first outfit of the day. I've been putting it off because of my self confidence, but recently I'm having a bit of a f**k it phase and figured there was no time like the present. Products still in stock have clickable links! So, here goes:

T-shirt - Dorothy Perkins, Skirt - ASOS, Shoes - ALDO, Necklace - H&M, Blazer - ASOS.
I'm always wearing outfits like this. I was a bit worried this skirt was a little on the short side, but I think with thick black tights it works quite well. All in all a very basic outfit, but I really love this blazer. I'd been hunting for something a bit heavier and looser fitting than a lot of the blazers in the shops, and this one fits the bill. We're just heading out for a late lunch with Matt's dad (I can't wait - so hungry!).

I grabbed these suede wedged shoes from ALDO in the sale, with my new job in mind. Quite often I'm put off from trousers unless I have a little somethin' somethin' adding an extra few inches of height. These are slightly tight on the toe, but I'm determined to wear them in pronto! I love how simple they are, but they really work in lengthening the leg - which all us shorties need!

Face wise, I thought I'd venture into some eyeshadow as I've had minimal make-up on for the last few weeks and fancied a change. I always love my Sleek Storm Palette for simple everyday looks, as the cost is so low and the pigmentation of the shadows is great. Golden brown shimmery eyes is my fail-safe eye look, and I love how the Collection Creme Puff in Fairy Cake adds a pop of colour.

Other products used: Dr. Jart Waterfuse BB Beauty Balm, NARS Laguna, No7 Blush in Soft Damson, Clinique High Impact Mascara.

What do you like/not like about this outfit? Should I do more of these kinds of posts?

Please don't forget I also have a giveaway to win a free photoshoot and ten image digital folio, you can enter here

  5. Completely understand the daunting fear of OOTD posts, I've only done a couple and felt/feel incredibly self-conscious! But you look like an absolute pro, lovely outfit too :) Definitely have to do more xx
